On Thursday, March 8, 2012, Brielle got Braces!
This picture below, is Brielle biting her teeth together. She has a significant space between her top and bottom teeth due to what they call a "tongue thrust". When Brielle swallows, her tongue pushes forward instead of resting on the roof of her mouth, which overtime causes her teeth to be pushed forward. So, in addition to getting braces, she had to get an appliance they call a "cage" put in her mouth that will stop her tongue from pushing forward when she swallows. She will wear this for 8 months to a year and hopefully re-train her tongue to swallow the right way! She was excited for the braces...and unsure about this "cage". It has made it a little difficult to talk and swallow...but she is adapting to her new mouthful of metal!
She did not want me to post this picture...but I convinced her that one day she would want to remember this awkward moment! :)
This is what the final product looks like! Brielle, you are still as beautiful as ever!!

Ha ha ha - she is going to love these pics when she gets older!! Just pull them out when she is leaving to go on a date:) hee hee
